This video is a little dark, but it is a very interesting ceremony on Christmas eve in Lalibela. Ali and I arrived at about 7:30 and stayed until 10:30 PM and this was going on most of the time. The real fun started around 4 AM (or so we were told). The priests and deacons were chanting throughout the night and the pilgrims were watching from the top of the church. It was very interesting but very hard to get on video.
