In Lalibela during Ethiopia Christmas, Hotels (if you can call them that) get either completely booked out or insanely expensive. Pilgrims and tourists flock from everywhere to take part and to visit the centuries old churches. We could get accommodation, so we went on a trek, organised by Tesfa (Tourism in Ethiopia for Sustainable Future Alternatives). "Tesfa" also means "hope" in Amharic. After a six hour slog up a mountain (something that the locals do in bare feet and several times a week) we made it to the campsite. I took a quick clip to show Tim but thought why not share with everyone else?
